The panel will discuss the opportunities and challenges presented by transformational technology, including bitcoin, artificial intelligence, and the blockchain, and how those emerging forces affect our lives, the future of our economy and potentially, our national sovereignty.
Our panel of experts features Barry Eichengreen, professor of economics and political science at Cal-Berkeley and a former senior advisor at the International Monetary Fund; Robert S. Kaplan, president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas; and Chamath Palihapitiya, an early senior executive at Facebook who today is a venture capitalist and founder and CEO of Social Capital. Jim Dondero, co-founder and president of Highland Capital Management – the presenting sponsor of Engage at the Bush Center – will offer opening remarks.
